Listed here are several Cobb family fragments of two or more generations that appeared in Norwich. A large number of the identified Norwich Cobb's moved to Norwich from other areas and are charted in the area of origin. Whether there is any connection between the following families or whether they moved to Norwich from elsewhere is unknown.

From the arms of the Cobbs of Bury St Edmond [Argent (silver), a chevron between three cocks Gules (red)], they are a branch of the Cobb's of Cobb's Court, Aldington and New Romney, Co Kent, and not connected to any of the titled Cobb's of Co Norfolk.

I have included James & his family in this chart since the family had assets in Co Norfolk and appeared in the Co Norfolk records. The Cobbe's of Bury St Edmond do not appear in the 1561, 1577 & 1612 Suffolk Visitations, suggesting the family arrived in Suffolk between 1612-1628 (1628 is the first confirmed appearance of the family in Bury St Edmond). It is, of course, possible, that as a branch of the Kent Cobbs, they are listed in the 1612 Kent Visitations instead of the 1612 Suffolk Visitations. The Norfolk visitations contains branches of the Sandringham Cobb's who had not lived in Norfolk for several generations.

Admission of James Cobbs to copyhold (Amphreys) of Thomas Cornish, sold to him by exces: Gibson Lucas and William Herbert and surrendered to the use of his will."[71] Dated 30/4/1662, "Letter of John Lee (Lord of manor to James Cobbes, re acquittance for fine paid."[71] Dated 9/1662, "Extract from indenture of lease by James Cobbes Esq. of Bury St. Edmunds to Richard Ware, yeoman, of Lawshall of Humphreyse in Lawshall and meadow called Kinlesse in Cockfield (except woods and timber) with provisions for repairs and agreement by Cobbes to build on to house as stated."[71] Dated 10/5/1664, "Confirmation of bargain and sale by Sir Wm. Spring, Bt. of Pakenham (son of late Sir Wm. Spring) to James Cobbs Esq. of Bury St. Edmunds, ie of bargain and sale by Dame Eliz. Spring, Hamon L'Estrange and Jas. Hobart of 20 June 1656 of 6 pieces in Cockfield. Viz 12 acres Little Millfield, 5 acres Little Woolfield, 15 acres Little Hoopes, 30 acres Long Kenles (in 3 pieces) and 4 perches of pasture. Two halves of final concord for £500 between James Cobbs, Francis Astey, Richard Wells, Richard Maninge and Edward Nice - quers. and Wm. Messuage and 5 pieces in Cockfield of 5 acres, 1 acres, 3 acres, 1 acre, 4 perches belonging late to John Debenham."[71] Married Millicent[125] Turner, 11/7/1627, All Saints, Norwich, Co Norfolk.[26] Married 2nd Martha[71] Barnes.[26,127] Martha d/o William Barnes (d.1664) of East Winch, Co Norfolk, and Anne Coppin of Marketcell, Co Bedfordshire.[127] Martha was previously married to Edmund Asty of Bury St Edmonds, Co Suffolk.[127] Martha died after 1685.[71] Martha was listed as wife an executor of James' will, dated 1683 & proved 1685.[71] Resided 1657-1683, Bury Saint Edmunds, Co Suffolk.[71] Children of James Cobb:
