Last revision: 02/2/1999 (c) David Powell, http://roots-boots.net/ft/names.html NOTE: This is a "point" file, that means I have only one individual with this surname (ie: a wife). I am only including information on the first generation in this file. For the rest of my line of descent from this person, see the file on her husband's surname. Reference numbers are denoted by [..]'s and are listed at the end. 7. Thomas Pelham, born c.1747, at Playden, Sussex.[1] Married Ann Brown, 2/4/1772, at Playden, Sussex.[2] Children of Thomas Pelham and Mary Brown: i. Ann Pelham, baptised 10/3/1774, at Playden, Sussex.[3] Children: Mary (13/10/1793) of Playden, Sussex.[4] Mary's father was James Kennard, James and Ann were not married when Mary was born and no marriage record has been found.[4] ii. John Pelham, baptised 17/6/1781, at Playden, Sussex.[5] iv. Elizabeth Pelham, baptised 17/9/1782, at Playden, Sussex.[3] v. Henry Pelham, baptised 10/2/1786, at Playden, Sussex.[5] * vi. Charlotte Pelham, baptised 18/9/1788, at Playden, Sussex.[3] vii. Sarah Pelham, baptised 15/9/1791, at Playden, Sussex.[5] [1] There were no other Pelham's in the area at this time so it is a safe assumption that Thomas was the son of John and Elizabeth. Date of birth estimated from Thomas' marriage date. Thomas also named two of his children John & Elizabeth, as well as Sarah, his sister.
